Madelyn Wiscour

On March 30, 2012, Madelyn Lipscomb Wiscour, of Laurie, went to join her parents, William and Dorothy Lipscomb, twin sister, Carolyn Lipscomb, and brother, James Lipscomb in Heaven. They once again welcomed her to the Family Circle. Madelyn is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 33 years, Robert J. Wiscour, Retired United States Marine; a step-son, Grant Wiscour and wife Ginger of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Dotty Andrews (Wo) and best friend and brother, Thomas Lipscomb both of Baltimore, Maryland; her nieces and nephews, Carolyn Brodowski and husband John, and their children Cheyenne and Savannah, David Lipscomb, William Lipscomb, Thomas Lipscomb, Ambrosia Lipscomb and Brittney Lipscomb all of Baltimore, Maryland; an adopted sister, Sandy Harris of Detroit, Michigan; an adopted nephew, Robert; an adopted niece, Rochelle; and her adopted grandchildren, Robert, Kendall, Kamron, Dorrian, and Madison all of Detroit, Michigan. Her best friends in Baltimore were, Karen Lovelace, Linda Moyer and Lil Horan. “Thanks for all the great memories growing up together!” She is survived by many friends, whom she loved deeply and would like to thank them for their love and support. Special love to Jack LaFollette and Daisy, Barb Newton and To-To, Ron Riley, John Willcott, Mary Kurek, Jim Rogers, S.T.A.F.F., Steen’s Beauty Salon, Andy Jo Chicola, Lorraine Dawdy, Pat Radcliffe, Pauline and Pat Corcoran, Susann Huff, Susan D. Dean, Mayor Chuck Chorpening, Dr. and Mrs. J. Wildgen and Jodi Hunsaker. Your love was so very much appreciated! Another special “Thank You” is directed to Dr. Wang and the wonderful staff at the Lake Regional Cancer Center. Madelyn’s first love has always been her animals. Knowing they will be loved and cared for by her husband Bob makes this journey much easier. I know they will continue to bring him love in his life. Someday we will be together at the Rainbow Bridge. Madelyn would like to urge everyone to visit their local animal shelter…..the love of your life could be waiting for you to adopt him/her! Since moving to the Laurie, Missouri area, Madelyn had become active in the community. Her two favorite activities were, S.T.A.F.F., where she proudly served on their Board of Directors, and the Laurie Enchanted Village of Christmas Lights. She served on the Board of Directors of Cam-Mo Ambulance and had the deepest respect for our wonderful ambulance and fire departments. Another love of Madelyn’s was the Sunrise Beach Library, and sincerely thanks Claire for her friendship and appreciated all the wonderful books. Her biggest supporter in all her community activities was always her husband Bob. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.T.A.F.F., P.O. Box 1324, Laurie, Missouri 65038. Madelyn felt that the S.T.A.F.F. animal shelter was her dream that became a reality. She hopes that people will continue to support and love all of God’s creatures. A Celebration of Madelyn’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Reverend Ellen Hoff officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery in Laurie. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Madelyn has chosen the following to be “Honorary Pallbearers” for her: Jack LaFollette, Ron Riley, Jim Rogers, Pat Corcoran, Steve Christensen, Thomas Lipscomb, Mayor Chuck Chorpening and John Willcott.
