Lois Ann Litwiller

Lois Ann Koehn Litwiller, our loving wife, mother and grandmother, was born on March 31, 1952, in Oakley, Kansas, to parents Richard and Deloris (Unruh) Koehn. She peacefully passed away on January 27, 2026, after a long battle with various health issues. She reached the age of 73 years. Mom grew up in western Kansas and received her formal education there. She lived there until the age of 18 when she moved to Versailles with her family. She loved her Kansas heritage and was especially fond of the sunflowers and sunsets. She gave her heart to God at the age of 13 years and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on April 3, 1965, at Scott City, Kansas. In her youth she enjoyed teaching school for several years and also taught bible school in Phoenix, Arizona. She had many fond memories and stories to tell about those years. On September 21, 1980, Lois was married to me, Rodney Litwiller at Versailles, Missouri. We were blessed with 45 years of happy married life. Into our home were born 4 children. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Mom was a positive person. Among her personal treasures we found this quote: "It was only a sunny smile and so little it cost in the giving, but the morning light; it scattered the night and made the day worth living." We feel she lived her life with this thought in mind. She amazed us with her ability to make the most out of her life even with the pain and health problems she endured. She loved to color pictures and write letters to family and friends of the community. Another fond memory we cherish was her love of Christmas shopping for her children and grandchildren. This usually started in January and took the rest of the year! Left with precious memories are her husband, Rodney, Versailles, MO, four children, Lane Litwiller, Versailles, MO, Ann and Skyler Koehn, Atwater, CA, Dylan and Carla Litwiller, Versailles, MO, and Alison Litwiller, Versailles, MO, three beloved grandchildren, Adalyn, Emmett, and Ava. She is also survived by two sisters, Renita and Melvin Kurtz, Bonita and Mervin Kurtz, and brother Nolan and Irene Koehn, sisters-in-law, Kathy and Doug Wesenberg, and Wanda Litwiller, brothers-in-law Roger and Barb Litwiller, Linden and Linette Litwiller, Mark and Rachel Litwiller, and Martin and Arlene Litwiller and many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Deloris Koehn, parents-in-law Laurence and Mary Litwiller, brothers-in-law Terry Litwiller and Dennis Litwiller, and two nephews, Matt Wesenberg and Evan Kurtz. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 31st, at the Beulah Mennonite Church near Versailles. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Beulah Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
