Kathryn Edward Carson Medved

Kathryn Edward Carson Medved, a woman of unwavering strength and kindness, passed away on the morning of February 1, 2024, in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born on April 7, 1931, in Triplett, Missouri. Kathryn was the beloved daughter of the late Henry Edward Hamilton and Della Mable Marcum, the last survivor of her three siblings, two sisters and one brother, and the cherished mother of Sharon Sheridan, Patsy West, Nancy Jenkins, Deby Leininger, Jayne Dykens and her son Vincent Carson. Kathryn was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Sheridan and her three husbands, Joseph Carson, Dave Steinburg and Joseph Medved. She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her five children, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Kathryn's journey in life included attending cosmetology school in 1967 and subsequently opening two of her own salons, showcasing her talent and entrepreneurial spirit. Her passion for the beauty industry was matched only by her commitment to her family. An inspiring and encouraging presence, Kathryn had an unparalleled ability to connect with others. Her family-centric personality was evident in her unwavering support and encouragement of her children and grandchildren. Kathryn's hobbies were as diverse as her interests were vast. From playing slot machines at the casino to engaging in shuffleboard competitions, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for travel extended beyond borders, enjoying both domestic and international adventures. Embarking on outdoor trips with the family was a memorable pastime of hers as well. Later in life, she discovered a passion for rescuing cats from the local animal shelter, finding comfort and joy in their companionship. Any donations made to the local animal shelters would be an admirable way to honor her name, giving back was something she was most passionate about. Kathryn Edward Medved-Carson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of those she touched. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Asbury Hills Community Center, near Keytesville, Missouri with Sterling Carson officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Asbury Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Friday, at the Asbury Hills Community Center. Memorial contributions are suggested to Ozarks Kat and K9 Animal Shelter. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
