Jason R. Cook

Jason Robert Cook, 46, went home to be with Jesus on August 25, 2026. Born in Orlando, Florida, on March 25, 1980, to Patricia Ann Cook and James Robert Cook Jr., Jason lived a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Jason was a man of many trades—skilled and enjoyed working with his dad in construction, detailing, and painting. Beyond his work, he was truly passionate about spending quality time with the people he loved. He enjoyed attending church, playing his guitar, and making lasting memories with his family. A devoted football fan, Jason looked forward to weekly games at his brother Jeremy’s house, surrounded by great food and good company. Known for being kind, understanding, funny, and effortlessly charming, Jason always offered a listening ear and steadfast support to those around him. Above all, his two granddaughters were the absolute light of his life. Jason is survived by his children: Jalyn Luanne Cook and her fiancé, Caleb Levi Galbraith, of Stover, MO; Leland Gage Cook; and Tahlor Marie Cook. He leaves behind his cherished granddaughters, Indikeja Genesis-Jean Galbraith and Janiyah Linn-Marie Galbraith. He is also survived by his father and stepmother, James Robert Cook Jr. and Margie Ann Cook of Camdenton, MO; his mother, Patricia Ann Cook of Stover, MO; his brothers, James Harrison Cook of Versailles, MO, Jeremy Lynn Cook and his wife Tabitha Anne of Versailles, MO, Quinton Carl Cook of Camdenton, MO, and Trenton James Cook of Camdenton, MO; and his sisters, Heather Michelle Gibson of Versailles, MO, Christy Mullins of Marshall, MO, and Mary Faith Cameron of Sedalia, MO. Jason leaves behind a vast network of extended family, including many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles residing across Missouri, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Louisiana, and beyond. Jason was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Michael Cook-Paxton; his grandparents, Betty and Harry Johnston, and Mary and Jim Cook Sr.; his brothers, Bradley Self and Joel Self; as well as his uncles, Loren Cook and Mike Cook. I’LL SEE YOU AT HOME ~ JASON Funeral services to celebrate Jason's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 28th, at Crossroads Assembly of God Church, 680 Beechwood Drive, Sunrise Beach, Missouri 65079, with Pastor Kevin Hauk officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Garber Memorial Estates in Laurie. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home to assist the family. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
