Gloria Jean Pickeral

Gloria Jean Pickeral, age 81, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. She was born May 18, 1945, in Raytown, Missouri, daughter of the late George W. Snyder, Sr. and Millinda (Hibdon) Snyder. On February 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to Earl Stewart Pickeral, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2026. Gloria worked a variety of jobs throughout her life including H&R Block, Ozark Barbecue, Dina’s Restaurant, Millstone, Big Thunder Marina, and her most favorite job was secretary for Bob & Gwenda Elliott at Elliott’s Fence and Glass. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sunrise Beach where her grandmother, Ollie Hibdon and mother, Millinda Snyder began membership. When she was able, she volunteered at church and also at Community for Christ. Gloria enjoyed spending time crafting, crocheting and faithfully reading her Bible. She is survived by her daughters, Angelia Dawn Pickeral Mansfield and husband John Charles Mansfield of Windsor, Missouri and Christinna Lynn Pickeral of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Rosie Staniforth Pickeral of Versailles, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, Angelia Fogle, Lila Scherler, Gabrielle Davidson, Lacy Zurmiller, Rodney “Sonny” Pickeral, Jr., Clifford Pickeral, Jessica White, Douglas Kalina, Jr., Robert “Bobby” Elliott, Ashli Elliott, Amber Reeves, Alayna Moss, Leslie Chambers and Michelle Staniforth; twenty great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Lowe and husband Robert of Archie, Missouri and their children; Michelle Shirley and husband Frankie, Thomas (Tommy) Lowe and wife Tina, Becky (Renee) Sarratt and husband Larry, and Millinda Patton and husband Rob, Isaac Lowe, and Natalie Lowe. Niece (late) Michelle Snyder, nephew Michael Snyder and wife, their mother Doris Snyder and many other relatives including great and great-great nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Andrew Pickeral and brother, George W. Snyder, Jr. Memory from her granddaughter: “She was a woman who kept to herself yet still wanted to share her world. Through it all, she had love and knowledge to give to those around her. She taught me to crochet and make something from nothing and I, her granddaughter, will always cherish that side of her and what she has taught me. We would play Xbox and computer games and just hang out sometimes and I never left without learning something new each time. She was also an amazing cook and baker. Every year the family looked forward to her food, but the thing we all knew her for was her amazing potato salad! She put so much love into that dish that I cannot dare to have it any other way than how she made it. I will always remember her as the grandma who taught me how to create something from nothing, her memories will be cherished for eternity.” Her son, Rodney wrote this verse in his notepad days before his passing: “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him”. James 5:15 Graveside services and inurnment will be held on Saturday, August 29th, at 4:00 p.m., in the Holst Cemetery in Gravois Mills. A celebration of Gloria’s life will follow the graveside service at the First Baptist Church in Sunrise Beach. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Sunrise Beach. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
