Edgar H. Thiemann

Edgar H. Thiemann, age 90, of Versailles, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. He was born April 18, 1921, near Pawnee City, Nebraska, the eighth of thirteen children of Ernest L. and Myrtle Neal Thiemann. On September 15, 1943, in Seneca, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Opal Mae Forney, who survives at the Good Shepherd Care Center. Edgar and family moved to Camdenton, Missouri, from Pawnee City, in 1952, where Ed operated his own ceramic tile and floor covering business. Ed and his sons worked all around the Lake of the Ozarks. Edgar and Opal owned the E-O Ranch south of Camdenton where they raised cattle and horses. Edgar was a long time member of the Camdenton Saddle Club. In 1986, Ed and Opal moved to a farm near Barnett, Missouri, and then in 1997, to their mobile home north of Versailles. Ed raised and sold rabbits for many years. Ed was a member of the Glensted United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Opal, he is survived by one daughter, Sharon Hunter and husband Robert of Linn Creek, Missouri; two sons, Dean Thiemann and wife Valonia of Versailles, Missouri and Wayne Thiemann and wife Jackie of Fulton, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Robbie Hunter and wife Lisa of Watertown, South Dakota, Shannon Hunter and wife Pam of Yorkville, Illinois, Aaron Hunter and wife Julie of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Travis Thiemann and wife Kristin of Rogersville, Missouri, Tara Thiemann of West Sacramento, California, Marty McGuire of Camdenton, Missouri, Shane Shadrick and wife Pam of Camdenton, Missouri, Curtis Hunter and wife Melissa of Macks Creek, Missouri, Abbie Keimig and husband Karl of Gardner, Kansas, Richard Thiemann and wife Jodi of Columbia, Missouri, and Heather Croy and husband Brad of Rocheport, Missouri; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Ross Thiemann and wife Mary Alice and Everett Thiemann both of Pawnee City, Nebraska; his sister-in-law, Lila Forney of Wasco, California; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Pam McGuire, a granddaughter-in-law, Ursula McGuire, his brothers, Harold, Fred, and Richard, and his sisters, Hallye Friedly, Hazel Brown, Beulah Hooper, Alta McFerrin, June Young, Gertrude Barnts, and Eva Estle. The family would like to thank the Good Shepherd Care Center and Hospice Preferred for the wonderful care Edgar received. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, at the Glensted United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Adkison officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the church. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Glensted Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Glensted United Methodist Church or to the Good Shepherd Care Center. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
