Buse Henry William

William Henry Buse, age 76, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Thursday evening, May 26, 2005, at the Laurie Care Center in Laurie, MO. He was born August 15, 1928, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Leslie August and Berniece M. Smith Buse. William grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he became an Eagle Scout. Later, in Des Moines, he became Scout Master for a troop at Central Presbyterian Church, and was also vice president of the Des Moines Girls Softball League. He was a life member of the Men’s Garden Clubs of America, a member of the National Board of Realtors, and was a volunteer and fund raiser for Loving Hands Preschool at its inception. While attending Iowa State University, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. William was also a retired Captain for the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Buse of the home; four daughters, Nora Buse and Bruce Melville of Camdenton, MO, Cindy Buse Kirklin and husband Eric of Springfield, MO, Claudia Buse and Richard Oberto of Columbia, MO, and Susan Buse of Dallas, TX; one brother Fredrick “Bud” L. Buse and wife Sandi of Camdenton, MO; five step-sisters, Ellen Larson of Vero Beach, FL, Marian LaShorne of Northbrook, IL, Sally Cunningham of Lakeway, TX, and Margaret Willason and Janet Webster both of Cedar Rapids, IA; twelve grandchildren, Kelsey Buse-Oberto, Austin Buse-Oberto, and Alexander Buse-Oberto all of Columbia, MO, Derek Leiferman, Clayton Melville, Spencer Melville, and Sarita Treat all of Camdenton, MO, Amanda Kirklin and Kalli Kirklin, both of Springfield, MO, Tiffany Kirklin of Marshfield, MO, and Andrea Strong and Heath Kirklin of Ava, MO; one great-grandson, Joseph McKinzie of Marshfield, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, June 5, 2005, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie, MO. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 6, 2005, at the home of William and Eleanor Buse. Inurnment will be at a later date.
