Vernon E. Scoville Jr.

Vernon E. Scoville, Jr., age 86, of Stover, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born April 11, 1934, in Shawnee, Kansas, a son of the late Vernon E., Sr. and Eva B. (Long) Scoville. On January 2, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Billie (Wright) Scoville. He worked in law enforcement in Kansas City as a police officer until his retirement after thirty years of service. He also worked for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department as a reserve deputy for many years. Vernon enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing and also woodworking. In addition to his wife, Billie, he is survived by his children, Vernon E. Scoville, III of Blue Springs, Missouri and Linda Lou Scoville-Miller and husband Chuck of North Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Sue Scoville. There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
