Roger Dean Cooper, age 66, of Barnett, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born May 21, 1955, in Sedalia, Missouri, a son of the late Joe and Catherine Ellen (Schlobohm) Cooper. On July 13, 2013, at Big Rock Church in Barnett, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Sharon Kay (Whittle) Cooper. Roger was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an over the road truck driver for many years until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring cars and caring for his animals and neighbors. In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by his sons, Joshua Cooper of Biloxi, Mississippi and Jentry Cooper and wife Jennifer of Hillsboro, North Dakota; step-children, April Edgar and husband Jeff of Bolivar, Missouri, Shanann Crabtree and husband Tom Cardwell of Barnett, Missouri and Vincent Crabtree and wife Michelle of Warsaw, Missouri; three grandchildren, Joshua Cooper, Jr., Jentry Cooper, Jr. and Lilly Cooper; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Charles Emmitt Cooper and wife Molly of Versailles, Missouri, Donald James Cooper of Smithton, Missouri, William Thomas Cooper of Barnett, Missouri, Jerry Lee Cooper of Enid, Oklahoma, Emmitt Sylvester Cooper of Barnett, Missouri, Kathy Jo Ships of Blue Springs, Missouri, Ann Irene Craig and husband Tom of Fremont, Nebraska, Denise Cooper of Kansas City, Missouri, Rebecca Lynn Cooper of Lincoln, Nebraska and Carolyn Kay Ferrell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Jeremy Cooper and Jared Cooper and his siblings, Larry Joe Cooper, Debbie Kay Tubbs, Brenda Lou English, Gary Dean Cooper and Tracy Cooper. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles with Pastor Gary Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Hillsboro, North Dakota. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Sharon Cooper. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
