NORA LEE WAISNER Nora Lee Waisner, 83, of Gravois Mills, went on Eagles Wings to be with the Lord on April 16, 2024 at University Hospital, Columbia, MO. Nora Lee was born on September 20, 1940 at the family homestead, daughter to Nelson and Kathleen (Frazier) Wilson. She was united in marriage to Harold Edward Waisner on February 28, 1959 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Gravois Mills. She is survived by her loving husband, Harold; daughter, Christina (David) Hardwick of Nixa, MO; son, Kevin Waisner of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley) Hardwick Overland Park, KS, Rachel (Zach) Cuseo, Highlands Ranch, CO, Stephen (Kristina) Hardwick of Kansas City, KS, Brittany Williams, Kansas City and Emily Brown, Kansas City; four great-grandchildren, Caden, Cameran, Bryson Hardwick and Nora Grace Cuseo; a sister, JoAnn (Don) Drake of Gravois Mills and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Nora Lee graduated from Versailles High School in 1958. Before returning to the Century family farm in Gravois Mills, she retired from Western Electric / AT&T Kansas City as a machinist in 1990. She returned in 1990 to Gravois Mills and together Nora Lee and Harold worked at farming and raising cattle for the next 30 years. Farming was a passion she enjoyed sharing with family who came back to visit the farm. Nora Lee truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures nature offered. She was an avid hunter of deer and turkey and appreciated outdoor Missouri Conservation. Riding horses and sharing equestrian activities brought her great joy. Nora Lee was a caring, giving woman who never met a stranger. She volunteered on various local and county boards. She served on the Board of Missouri Extension Office and Old St. Patrick's Cemetery. She was an active member of the Elks Club and American Legion Post 624. She was an active founding member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus. Nora Lee's greatest joy was creating memories with endless energy with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. An annual event for Nora Lee was participating in the Hillbilly Fair Parade. Additionally, she was selected as a Grand Marshall for the upcoming 2024 Hillbilly Fair. As we celebrate a life well lived, she will always be remembered for her positivity, beautiful smile and love of the Lord. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. A Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church followed by a visitation until Mass time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either St. Patrick's Cemetery or American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
