Lynn Cotton

June 24, 1954 - February 9, 2022

LYNN COTTON Lynn Nolan Cotton, Sr., age 67, of Versailles, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at his home. He was born June 24, 1954 in Long Beach, California, a son of the late Leonard Nelson Cotton and Claudine (Smith) Cotton. On December 30, 2019 in Versailles, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Deborah Jean Campbell. They shared many happy times together throughout their marriage. Lynn was raised in the state of California where he and his father later owned a boat and Harley-Davidson motorcycle shop. He moved to Versailles, Missouri over thirty years ago where he soon owned and operated Midwest Motorcycle Engineering, LLC. in Versailles and after nine years, he earned a CDL and became a truck driver, where he finished out his career. He attended West Union Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, wood working and being on the water. He enjoyed the freedom of the open road as well as the feeling of wind on his face. He collected guns and took a fond interest in building several of his own. Lynn was a great cook and considered himself to be a "connoisseur of foods". One of his favorite quotes was, "If a man can't eat good food, what's the point in living?!?" Survivors include his wife, Deborah Cotton of the home; two children, Krystal Cotton of Columbia, Missouri and Lynn Cotton, Jr. of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; and 3 maternal grandchildren Gabriel Ivie, Serenity Ivie-Miller, and Emery Buckler; he was also survived by five step-children, Angela Denny of Rogersville, Missouri, Joshua Hammond of Springfield, Missouri, Leslie Hammond of Lampe, Missouri, Katie Lundgren of Nixa, Missouri and April Hammond of Lexington, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles. Burial will follow in Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
