Larry Flowers

November 21, 1952 - January 9, 2022

LARRY FLOWERS Larry Gene Flowers was born November 21, 1952 in El Dorado, Kansas to Bernice (Varner) Flowers and Ray Donald Flowers. God received another angel on January 9, 2022 at Lake Regional Hospital with his wife at his bedside. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Terry Flowers and sister, Penny (Flowers) Anthony. Larry leaves behind his wife of twenty-eight years, Sandra “Sandy” Flowers; his five children, Travis Flowers, Ashley Lanyi and husband Stephen, Ann Beck and husband William all of Olathe, Kansas, Sarah Klipa and husband Mark of Port Alberni, Canada and Kellie Overocker of Overland Park, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Micheal and Jackson Beck, Alexander and Rebecca Flowers, Ella, Lark and Lyndee Klipa, Sidney Overocker and Quinn and Kinsley Lanyi; also his constant companion, his dog Sulley. Larry grew up in El Dorado, Kansas graduating from El Dorado High School in 1970. In 1972, Larry attended Climate Control School and began his career in HVAC. Larry eventually opened his own company, Thermal Craft Maintenance Incorporated in Johnson County, Kansas in 1984. He retired from the industry in 2012 and recently moved to his lake home in Gravois Mills, Missouri. Larry married Sandra (Gayle) on July 23, 1993. Friends would call them the “Brady Bunch”, combining two families to a family of seven. Larry was a loving man and he loved all of the children as if they were his own. He enjoyed participating in SCCA sports racing, taking the whole family for weekend events and showing them off. However, when it came to putting a port-a-potti in the race car trailer for the girls, that was not going to happen. His solution was to buy an RV so they had clean accommodations. He loved fishing when he could with his family, boating with friends, woodworking, and watching his favorite team, the Chiefs play. He was a soft-spoken man never speaking ill of anyone and always looking at the positive side of an issue. He was very lovable and his trust in people was immeasurable. Until we meet again We will think about you always We talk about you still, You will never be forgotten, And you never will. We hold you close within our hearts And there you will remain. To walk and guide us through our lives Until we meet again. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
