Karl King
September 2, 1931 - July 12, 2018
KARL F. KING Karl F. King, Sunrise Beach, Missouri, went to be with his Lord, July 12, 2018. (The Lord needed a new fishing buddy). He was born September 2, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas of parents, Walter Vernon King and Josephine Bade. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Richeson who passed away in 2005. He married Martha Bowser in 1952 and her death was November 6, 1988. Through an introduction by Karl’s daughter Kathy in 1989, he met his current wife Sharon and the two became inseparable and married six months later. Karl and Sharon retired in 1991 and came to live at the Lake of The Ozarks. Karl was a chemist for Colony Paints and Valspar Paint. Karl was one of the active core members of the Shawnee Bend Three Homeowners Association. From mowing the cemetery to contributing his ideas at board meetings. It is important to note his long-time involvement with Abdallah Shrine and Masonic Lodge Linn Creek #152. Karl was a man everyone could count on. His favorite past-times were hunting, fishing, and helping others. He was the official “go to” guy with his neighbors, friends, and family. There really was nothing he couldn’t fix or re-engineer. He loved his family and looked forward to hearing all about his children’s grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s accomplishments. Karl was a hugger and ended his phone calls with “I Love You”. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of the home; children, Kathy and Larry Fryer, Vernon King, Chris and Ellen King, David King and Debi and George Weaver; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who all miss him dearly. A Celebration of Karl’s life will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at West Lake Christian Church, 936 Hwy O, Laurie, MO 65308, 573-374-0647. A meal and fellowship will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
