Janet Lee Russell, age 86, of Latham, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. She was born July 10, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Burgenbaugh) Roy. She had a love for dogs, raising Shetland Sheep Dogs and Yorkshire Terriers for many years. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy James and husband Randy of Latham, Missouri and Diana Slater of Smithville, Missouri; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and her sister, Lyn Walther and husband Eric of Lawrence, Kansas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Wayne Russell and a daughter, Christine Bath. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 6th, at Antioch Cemetery in Pittsburg, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a local animal shelter. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
