HAZEL THOMSEN Hazel Darlene Thomsen, age 72, of Kansas City Missouri, formerly of Versailles, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City Missouri. She was born September 1,1949 in Brumley Missouri, a daughter of Willie Everett and Hazel (Fields) Davis. Darlene graduated from Versailles High School in class of 1967. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, specializing in Remedial Reading from Central Missouri State University. She taught at Tipton Elementary and Adrian Elementary Schools and was also a substitute teacher at various Kansas City area schools. For over twenty years, she has dedicated her work life to her beloved Royals Stadium in Kansas City Missouri. Darlene had a caring heart and would give the shirt off her back. She knew no strangers. Everyone who knew her became family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and cheering on the Royals. She will be missed by so many. She is survived by her daughters, Angi (Steve) Uber of Versailles Missouri and Jeanette (David) Herman of Pleasanton, Kansas from her first husband Joseph Brandl; her daughters, Heather Fuelling of the home in Kansas City Missouri and Canaa (Lateef) Jones of Kansas City, Missouri from her third husband Kurt Fuelling; her eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first-born daughter, Shana Jo Brandl; her second husband, Bill Thomsen and one grandson Malachi Fuelling-Davis. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2022 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles. Burial will follow in Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
