Fay Lucille Silvey

Fay Lucille (James) Silvey, age 91, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born September 30, 1924, near Barnett, Missouri, to Charles and Dora (Hayes) James. On October 3, 1940, she married Loyd E. Silvey, who preceded her in death on July 21, 2001. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a step-father, Bennie June, a half-brother, Ray “Ted” Burkhart, a son-in-law, Larry Raines and a great-grandson, Luke Lehman. Lucille is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Pryor and husband Herschel and Fonda Raines; three sons, Vernon, Eddie and Steve Silvey and wife Leslie; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a step-sister, Norma Hayes. Lucille lived her entire life in or near Versailles. After she and her husband of over sixty years retired, they traveled and spent several winters in south Texas. Her hobbies included sewing and writing songs and poems. She was a longtime member of the Versailles First Assembly of God Church. Lucille loved going to church, reading the Bible and visiting with her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, September 30th, at the Versailles First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Roy Bennett officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Friday, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Versailles First Assembly of God Church. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
