Ellen L. Barnes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

ELLEN BARNES Ellen Louise (Rouse) Barnes, age 95, of Belton, Missouri, passed away January 28, 2020. She was born March 25, 1924 to Elmer J. and Elva Jane (Corkill) Rouse. Ellen was married to John Edgar Barnes on March 14, 1942 in Albany, Missouri. John Edgar preceded her in death on January 14, 1982. Ellen and John had four children, Ron Barnes (Becky) of Aurora, Colorado, Ken Barnes (Novella) of Manteca, California, Jim Barnes (Jan) of Leesburg, Alabama and Nancy Barnes of Belton, Missouri. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Rouse; sister, Pauline Oyler; nine grandchildren; five grandchildren and her best friend and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stevens Leteux. Ellen dedicated her life to her husband and children. She was the epitome of a perfect mother. She was a member of the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bert and John Rouse and sisters, Alice Smith, Evelyn Wolfchief, Dorothy Hartman and Elsa Rouse. After 38 years, she is finally rejoined with her loving husband John. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Burial will follow at Garber Memorial Estates. Visitation will be from 10:00–11:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Gravois Mills United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
