Donna Carol Searcy

Donna Carol Searcy, age 74, of Versailles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born June 7, 1947 in Murphysboro, Illinois, a daughter of William St. Patrick and Ada Jane (Smith) Popejoy. On September 20, 2000 in Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Okal Keith Searcy. Together they have shared the past twenty years of marriage. Donna was raised in Illinois and was a graduate of Trico High School in Murphysboro. She moved with her family to Missouri in 1980. She had been an employee of Walmart in Eldon and Versailles for thirty-two years. She retired as a pharmacy technician at the Versailles location. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching wrestling, football and ghost adventure shows on television. She enjoyed country line dancing and had a talent for crocheting. Most of all, time spent with her kids and grandkids brought her joy. Survivors include her husband, Keith Searcy of the home; three children, David Scott Reames and wife Jodi of Jefferson City, Missouri, Tracey Searcy and husband John of Eldon, Missouri and Richard Waters of Versailles, Missouri; five grandchildren, Riley Renee Waters, Samantha Nicole Reames, Collin Enloe Waters, Sydney Breanne Searcy and Zachary Edward Reames; two sisters, Wilma Cross and Vera Cross both of Ava, Illinois and a host of other relative and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles. Burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
