BUCK DONALD Howard Franklin “Buck” Donald, Jr., age 93, of Versailles, Missouri, passed away, Friday, August 21, 2020 at his home. He was born, February 25, 1927 in De Soto, Missouri, a son of Howard Franklin, Sr. and Mary (Snyder) Donald. On March 25, 1989 in Camdenton, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Silvey. Together they shared the past thirty-one years of marriage. Buck served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he joined his father in the family construction business. He later purchased the business and ran it successfully for many years. He retired to Macks Creek, Missouri and enjoyed time spent running his cattle farm. Buck and Sharon finally settle on a small farm outside of Versailles. Buck was a member of Family Worship Center in Versailles and the Masonic Lodge in Festus. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Donald of the home; two sons, Todd Donald and wife Dione of Festus, Missouri and Bill Higginbotham and wife Jacque of Gravois Mills, Missouri; a daughter, Kristi Burk of St. Louis, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Polly O’Brien. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2020 at Family Worship Center, Versailles. Burial with military honors will follow in Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
