Albert R. Dzurko Jr., age 67, passed away suddenly after shoveling snow on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. Albert was born December 22, 1954, to Albert R. Sr. and Genevieve (Costa) Dzurko. He grew up in the Cunningham neighborhood, attended Holy Cross grade school and was a graduate of Joliet Central class of 1972. Albert retired from Caterpillar in 2007 after 31 years of service. After his retirement, Al and Rose fulfilled their dream of moving to Lake of The Ozarks, where he always welcomed family and friends new and old. There was always an abundance of his famous "apple pie shots", food and countless hours on his pontoon boat. Most of all, time spent with his family and being a proud Papa to his grandsons who were his pride and joy was a very important part of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Roseann (Knezevich), son, Marc of Parkville, Missouri, daughter, Amanda (Michael) Persha of Channahon, Illinois and grandsons Matthew Michael and Colton Albert of Channahon. Albert is also survived by his siblings, Judy (Rich) Sargent, Ed (Tina) Dzurko and Kookie Countryman and his brothers-in-law Tony Knezevich and Bill Pubentz. Numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, a host of cousins and many close friends also survive. Albert was a baseball coach at St. Joes and a coach and board member for The Joliet Raiders Youth Tackle Football for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Bill and Mary (Helis) Pubentz and Anthony (Tange) Knezevich. The family would like to thank all family members, friends, and neighbors for your outpouring of love and support. Donations in Albert's name can be made to St. Judes Church, Joliet, and Joliet Moose Lodge #300. Per Albert's wishes, cremation rites were accorded. A mass will be celebrated at 10:30am. Saturday, March 5th at St. Judes Catholic Church Joliet. A celebration to honor Albert's legacy will be held Sunday March 6th from 2-5pm at The Joliet Moose Lodge #300 25 Springfield Ave. Joliet. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
