Wanda Joyce (Hagerman) Hilty

Wanda Joyce (Hagerman) Hilty, 74, of Versailles, went to her heavenly home, February 7, 2024, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Wanda was born May 1, 1949, to James Edward and Pearlie (Dix) Hagerman. She was a 1967 graduate of Morgan County R-II school. On January 11, 1975, she married the love of her life, Paul “Pete” Hilty. The couple had three children, Timothy Hilty, Rachel Hilty Faron (husband Justin) and one infant child that preceded her in death. One of her greatest blessings was her grandchildren: Abigail “Abi” Viebrock (husband Joe), Joel Faron (significant other Harley Coleman) and Anna Faron. She used to say that if she knew how wonderful grandchildren were she would have had them first. She had also recently earned the title of great-grandmother to Jace Viebrock. A title she wore proudly! Wanda was an amazing cook and baker. She had many different jobs in her lifetime, most of them centered around cooking and baking. She catered many weddings and events, decorated cakes and hosted countless dinner parties in her home. She enjoyed hosting and having company which typically was surrounded by a good meal. Wanda was the most incredible Mother and Nana. She was the biggest confidant, friend and supporter to her children and grandchildren. She was a caring, compassionate, selfless and giving woman. She loved playing cards, dominos and doing puzzles with her family. She also enjoyed a good prank and gave people a hard time just for fun. Wanda loved the Lord with all her heart and held steadfast to His promises, especially in the last few years as she faced some of the hardest challenges she had ever faced. Wanda is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandson, a sister, Mille Jobe of Sedalia, Missouri, along with brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul “Pete” Hilty, infant child, great-grandson, Carter Viebrock, her brothers, David, Jerry and Lester and sisters, Barbara, Bonnie and Connie. She has fought the good fight and is now receiving her reward. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 The family will be welcoming friends and family for visitation at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles on Monday, February 12th, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Her celebration of life well lived will begin immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the old Mt. Zion Cemetery just north of Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Golden Age Living Center or Food For Morgan County. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
