Tony Gordon Shaw Sr.

Tony Gordon Shaw, Sr., age 77, of Laurie, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born January 30, 1948, in Anderson, Indiana, a son of the late Clarence G. and Martha (Legg) Shaw. Tony met Ruth Bader in Pilot Grove, Missouri where they became high school sweethearts and later graduated from Pilot Grove High School. They were married on June 17, 1967, at the First Baptist Church in Stoutland, Missouri. They had three children, Tony, Jr., Raymond and Kimberly. They were married for fifty-seven years but their relationship spanned sixty years total. Tony loved the Lord and was an Evangelist of many churches until he became the head of the Bus Ministry in Louisville, Kentucky. Later, he became the Pastor of many churches with his most recent churches being, New Home Baptist Church in Doolittle, Missouri, Faith Baptist Church in Climax Springs, Missouri and was currently the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Laurie. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, crafting and making shirts with his t-shirt press and shopping on Temu. He was a dreamer. He always talked about selling everything, buying and RV and he and the love of his life would travel the roads. Most of all, he loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by his children, Tony G. Shaw, Jr. and wife Bobette of Richland, Missouri, Raymond Allen Shaw and wife Christina of Eldon, Missouri and Kimberly Sue Shaw-Smith and husband Brian of Success, Missouri, formerly of Rolla; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Shaw, Tony G. Shaw, III, Derrick Allen Shaw, Jessica Laura Shaw, Nevin Campo, Calvin Campo, Shayla Nicole Hunt, Shandy Danyelle Miller and Shawn D. Crall; nineteen great-grandchildren; his brother, Allen Shaw and wife Pam of Stoutland, Missouri and sister, Debra Helbig of Stoutland, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Mike Helbig. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1st, at the First Baptist Church in Laurie with Pastor Duskey Graham, his grandson, Pastor Tony Shaw, III and Dr. Robert Loggins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Ruth Shaw. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
