Ruby Koehn

Ruby Koehn, age 86, of Montezuma, Kansas, and formerly of Versailles, Missouri, passed away Thursday evening, March 13, 2008 at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma, where she was a resident. The daughter of Alfred and Ida (Unruh) Nightingale, she was born February 9, 1922 at Chickasha, Oklahoma. She grew up to be a young lady at Chickasha. She and Abe D. Koehn were married on January 16, 1944, at Chickasha, OK. After their marriage she moved to Galva, Kansas. In 1973 they moved to Versailles, Missouri and lived there until about 2 ½ years ago, when she moved into Bethel Home Inc, Montezuma. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God In Christ Mennonite Church, Versailles, Missouri. Survivors include four sons, Orlan Koehn and wife, Grace, of Hillsboro, KS, Delton Koehn and wife, Dea Anne, of Barnett, MO, Melvin Koehn and wife Betty, of Barnett, MO, Wilbert Koehn and wife, Linda of Brooksville, MS; one daughter, Janice Unruh and husband, Sam, of Copeland, KS, seven brothers, Clarence Nightingale and wife Erma, of Dumas, AR, Daniel Nightingale and wife, Sadie, of Chickasha, OK, Glen Nightingale and wife, Roberta, of Chickasha, OK, Frank Nightingale and wife, Arvilla, of Verden, OK, John Nightingale and wife, Mary Ann, of Dalhart, TX, Cecil Nightingale and wife, Geneva, of Pulaski, IA, Homer Nightingale and wife, Carolyn of Leland, MS; one sister, Dessie Koehn, of Moundridge, KS; sister-in-laws, Eveline Nightingale, of Chickasha, OK, Florence Nightingale, of Montezuma, KS, brother-in-law, Vernon Nightingale of Fairview, OK; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Orlie and Menno Nightingale; two sisters, Mary Nightingale and Sophia Nightingale. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Beulah Mennonite Church near Versailles. Interment will be in the Beulah Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M Monday. at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Condolences may be sent online to www.kidwellgarber.com.
