Peggy Lou Roda

Peggy Lou Roda, age 93, of Jefferson City passed away peacefully Thursday, February 26 2026, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City. Peggy was born in Trenton, Missouri to Hugh and Flo Brummitt, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Carl Richard “Rodie” Roda in 1952, and they shared more than 60 years of marriage before his passing on September 3, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her son, Douglas David Roda. Peggy attended Trenton Junior College in Trenton Missouri, now known as North Central Missouri College, and later attended Christian College, now known as Columbia College, receiving her associates degree. Peggy then attended Central Missouri State in Warrensburg where she obtained her bachelors in Home Economics Education. Her education laid the foundation for a successful and fulfilling career. Peggy built a career as a home interior decorator where she was a district manager with The House of Lloyd company. Her talent, dedication, and creativity brought her notable success and recognition within the company. Through her achievements, she earned the opportunity to travel extensively around the world, including to Hawaii, China, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong, Japan, the Caribbean, England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, and Austria. She treasured these experiences and the many friendships formed along the way. Peggy will be remembered for her creativity, socialness, humor, and devoted involvement in the PEO organization. Peggy created beautiful cross stitch and knitted pieces in her spare time that her family still have and will treasure. She enjoyed Kansas State Football, as Rodie and Peggy were season ticket holders for more than 25 years. Her greatest pride and joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lynn Cole of Springfield; her granddaughter Lesley Brooke Marshall and husband Chris of Jefferson City; her granddaughter Katie Lynn Nichols and husband Brian of Springfield; her five great-grandchildren; Jaxon Heath Marshall and Ryley Brooke Marshall of Jefferson City; and Vivian Roe Nichols, Harriet Allee Nichols, and Frances Crawford Nichols of Springfield. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia McWilliams of Trenton, Missouri, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Per Peggy’s request, there will be no service. Memorial contributions are suggested to Columbia College.
