Katherine Kay Plumlee

Katherine Kay Plumlee, age 54, of La Monte, Missouri, passed away at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri on Sunday, February 11, 2007, following a lengthy and courageous battle with lymphoma. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2007, at La Monte United Methodist Church in La Monte. Katherine was born in Jefferson City on August 29, 1952, to George William and Clarica Fay Peek. She attended elementary, middle school and two years of high school in the Morgan County R II District in Versailles. She graduated high school at Westport High School in Kansas City. Her first husband was Dan Feldman. Then, on December 31, 1993, she married Ronald Dean Plumlee in Georgetown, Missouri. For many years she was a self-employed business and computer consultant. Most recently she was employed at Warrior Building Products. Among her many accomplishments, Katherine was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and served in all elective positions, including 2 years as president, of the ABWA Chapter in Sedalia. Katherine was named ABWA “Woman of the Year” in 2002. Katherine’s parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Ron Plumlee of the home; daughter, Sahrene Buckwalter and her husband Alan, and their daughter Abigail of Kansas City; son, Travis Feldman of Seattle, Washington; daughter Kara Witt and Larry Green and their daughter, Sage of Holiday Island, Arkansas. Katherine is also survived by her uncle, David Manes of Dixon, Missouri; two brothers, Dan William Peek and his wife Joy of Columbia, Missouri, and James Robert Peek of McGregor, Texas; three sisters, Lola Rice of Jefferson City, Missouri, Georgia Robb and her husband Charles of Geronimo, Oklahoma, and Carol Holt and her husband Charles of Sun City, Arizona. Other survivors include many loving nephews, nieces and cousins, beloved in-laws and numerous extended family members and friends. Katherine fought her cancer with the same positive attitude, determination, courage and unfailing good cheer that she had been known for all of her life. She and her husband, Ron, lived life to the fullest and cherished every minute of their time together. Katherine was enjoyed and loved by everyone who knew her. She treasured her family and friends and never seemed to have met a stranger. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her. Katherine chose to be cremated. Memorials and condolences should be addressed to Ron Plumlee, 13141 La Monte Road, La Monte, Missouri 65337. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
