Jerry Vercellono

Gerald Lee Vercellono, age 73, of Sunrise Beach, went to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Laurie Care Center. He was born August 17, 1940, in Morris, Illinois, the younger of two sons of the late John and Garnette (Finch) Vercellono. On September 2, 1967, in Mokena, Illinois, he was married to the love of his life, Pamela Joy (Koester) Vercellono. Jerry was a United States Air Force veteran serving from 1959 to 1963. He retired from R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company in Chicago, Illinois after 35 years as a printer. Jerry was a charter member of First Family Church in Osage Beach. He was a born again Christian who loved the Lord and was thankful and humbled to have been saved for forty years. Jerry was always optimistic and lived a consistently faith-filled life. Dedicated to both family and friends, he served in many capacities throughout his Christian life, as a Church board member, usher, Sunday school teacher, and host of several home Bible studies for years while seeing many lives touched by Christ, with long-lasting results. Both Jerry and Pam have had the opportunity to minister to hundreds of lives over 40 years of ministry. Following his retirement, the Vercellonos moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed spending time fishing with his wife, and building relationships with anyone who crossed his path. Jerry's passion and history of personal service followed him to their new home in Missouri where it was his regular routine to keep a watchful eye on neighbors' boats, the condo docks, and many other activities which he enjoyed, including serving for many years as a board member at Eleven West Condos. In addition to his wife, Pamela, he is survived by their three sons, Timothy Vercellono and wife Jennifer of Los Angeles, California, Andrew Vercellono and wife Kimberly of Charlotte, North Carolina and Daniel Vercellono and wife Kristina of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Shealyn, Kaitlyn, Jackson, Joi, Ethan, Elijah, Emberlyn, Elizabeth, and Eden; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John M. Vercellono. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date at First Family Church in Osage Beach.
