Gary Arlen Graham

Gary Arlen Graham was born to Loye and Dolores (Plank) Graham, June 25, 1938 on a farm near Webber, KS. He passed away at the Golden Age Living Center, Stover, MO on August 6, 2008, at the age of 70. He was baptized and became a member of the Presbyterian Church as a child. In 1963 he became a member of the Catholic Church. Gary’s family moved to the West Coast when he was a year old and lived in Washington and Oregon until 1945 when they came back to Superior, NE. His mother passed away when he was 11 years old and his paternal grandparents moved in with the family to help finish raising him and his siblings. His father passed away five years later. Gary graduated from Superior High School in 1956. He attended college at Kansas State for 1½ years and then joined the Navy and served 4 years (stationed in Guam for 3 years). Following his discharge from the Navy, he enrolled at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was married to Pat Sherry in 1963 and to this union 4 sons were born. Gary and Pat later divorced. He worked for Control Data in branches located in Minnesota, Indiana, and Nebraska. Upon retiring from that company, he purchased a National Property Inspection Franchise and moved to Illinois. In 1994 he was married to Ruth Ann Wojcik and they reside at the Lake of the Ozarks, Sunrise Beach, MO. Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents. Survivors include: his wife, Ruthie of the home, sons, Jeff and wife Darby of Uniontown, OH, Greg and wife Hilary of Westminster, CO, John and wife Kylee of Lincoln, NE, and Marc of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren, Lainey and Calvin Graham of Westminster, CO, and Rowyn Graham of Lincoln, NE; a step-son, Jay and wife Anne Wojcik of Lugoff, SC; two step-grandchildren, Julianne and Adeline Wojcik of Lugoff, SC; two brothers, Richard (Dick) Graham of Ketchikan, Alaska, Delton Graham and wife Carolyn of Springdale, AR; one sister, Jeanine Blackstone and husband Leo of Superior, NE; an aunt, Donna Siebert of Superior, NE, several nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie, MO, with Pastor Tony Chapman officiating. A second memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at the First Presbyterian Church in Superior, NE, with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Golden Age Living Center, PO Box 307, Stover, MO 65078, Bothwell Hospice, 3143 W. Broadway St., Sedalia, MO 65301, or Alzheimer’s Association, 9374 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie, MO.
