Aleta Mearl Imler

Aleta Mearl Schad Imler, born September 2, 1920, in Barnett, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Andrew John Schad and Martha Alice Bennett Schad. Aleta was united in marriage on February 14, 1948, to Henry Francis Imler in Versailles, at the Reverend J.L. Freeman’s home. She was a member of the Hopewell Christian Church near Barnett. She lived in Morgan County most of her life except during World War II when she lived in Kansas City. Aleta worked at Wilcox Electric Company in Kansas City, Glassers in Eldon and Tipton Manufacturing. Her husband, Henry Francis Imler passed away April 1, 1971. She lived on the family farm until 1981, when she then moved to Versailles. Aleta loved to garden and made many beautiful quilts that her children and grandchildren will always treasure. Aleta was also well known for her wonderful pies. She is survived by her four children, Virgil Roy Imler and wife Bonnie of Vernal, Utah, Gary Michael Imler and wife Jackie of Versailles, Missouri, Anita Alice Imler Widaman and husband Dwight of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Henry Leon Imler and wife Vanna of Ashland, Missouri; five granddaughters, five grandsons and twelve great-grandchildren, Frank Imler and wife Courtney and their sons, Seth and Kohen of Woods Cross, Utah, Holly Andrews and husband Brad and their children, Cooper, Margo, Sloan, Everett, Blythe and Owen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Henry Michael Imler and wife Meredith and son Reed of Columbia, Missouri, Rachel Kleeman and husband Casey and their children, Jaidyn and Leala of Le Mars, Iowa, Grant Imler and wife Amy and daughter, Kailey of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Hannah and Emma Widaman of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Henry Thomas, Quintin and Olivia Imler all of Ashland, Missouri; one brother, Dorsey Dean Schad and wife Lucille of Gruver, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Rose Schad of Versailles, Missouri and Blanche Imler of Tipton, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Alvin Schad who passed away on July 17, 1985. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 21, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home with Pastors Jim Kruse and Casey Kleeman officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery near Barnett. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hopewell Cemetery Association. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
