Albert Raymond Clausen

Albert Raymond Clausen, 91, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, near his Missouri families’ home in Eldon, Missouri, in the presence of his caretaker and nephew, JD Montgomery. He is survived by his four children, Herbert and wife Fran Richardson of Sparks, Nevada, Jonny Richardson of Santa Cruz, California, Ronnie and Sheryl Richardson of Twain Harte, California and Allen Clausen of Driggs, Idaho, his sister Helen Coleen (Clausen) of Loman Salinas, California and brother Pete Clausen Prunedale, California. He was preceded in death by his beautiful bride Ada Bell (Montgomery) Clausen, parents, Fred & Helen (Perry) Clausen, his loving daughter Peggy Souza of Denver Colorado, his brother Fred Clausen of California, brother-in-law Edward Montgomery of Lone Jack, Missouri and brother-in-law Don Montgomery and wife Peggy of Buckner Missouri. After owning, managing, and operating many restaurants and bars in northern California, Ada and Al spent their retirement years (30+) working together at Kennedy Meadows Resort and pack station located in the Stanislaus National Forest. There, they built lifetime friendships each summer. In the winter months, they loved traveling to the southern states and Mexico where they enjoyed long walks and time in the warm sun together with friends. Al married Ada and instantly became dad to four children. He promised to raise them and always saw them as his own children. Together Ada and Al had one son, Alan Clausen. He enjoyed many family activities and was committed to each of his five kids. He had a very special relationship with Ada’s family and always enjoyed being together with them. He cherished his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who brought him much joy. Two years ago, he asked Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior. A fact that caused Ada and him both to weep together. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, Missouri. Family time and visitation will start at 6:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 7:00 PM. An additional service will take place in Reno, Nevada, at Walton’s Funerals & Cremations, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno, Nevada, 89502 on September 26, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada on September 27 at 9:00AM. Memorial Donations to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in honor of Al’s service in the Korean War. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, MO, and Walton’s Funerals & Cremations, Reno Nevada, respectively.
