JOHN EDWARD POWELL Let us gather to celebrate and honor the life of John Powell, born on February 11, 1966, who passed away on October 26, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and dedication. John was a beloved husband to Kimberly Sue Powell, and devoted father to Kristina A. and Victoria J. Powell. While he is preceded in death by his father, Edward Powell, his mother, Deanna Powell, sister, Carol Powell and her husband, Ted White, as well as sister, Jane Powell, and nephew, Grant White, will forever hold him dear. He will also be remembered by his brother-in-law, Alan Nunemaker, and brother-in-law, Todd Nunemaker and his wife, Beth, and niece and nephew, Nathan and Betsy. While John is also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Theron Nunemaker, he will also be remembered by his mother-in-law, Anita Nunemaker. Professionally, John served as a respected Deputy Sheriff of Orange County, California. Spiritually, John was an active member of Calvary Chapel and President of the Christian Adoption Agency in southern California. Even in retirement, John and Kim founded J&K Powell Properties LLC, a successful vacation rental business and property management company at the Lake of the Ozarks. John's profound love story with Kim serves as a reminder that true love knows no boundaries, transcending time and distance. Their reunion and subsequent marriage were testaments to the power of love and the belief in second chances. John will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature, his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends, and his wonderful sense of humor. As we gather to honor his memory, let us remember the impact he had on our lives and the legacy he leaves behind. May John's spirit continue to inspire us to embrace life with humor, dream big, love without reservation, and cherish the moments we have with those we hold dear. May John rest in eternal peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will be forever missed. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Burial will follow in Garber Memorial Estates.
