Lloyd L. Pigg, age 78, of Stover, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born November 9, 1931, in Briar, Missouri, the son of the late John and Zora Gibson Pigg.
On June 1, 1953, in Smithville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Lydia Turner, who survives of the home.
Lloyd was a plumber for many years in Smithville. In 1990, he retired and they moved to the Ivy Bend Community. There, he was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Lydia, he is survived by one son, Lloyd Dwaine Pigg and wife Dorothy of Smithville; one daughter, Edith Capps and husband Mitchell of Stover; four grandchildren, Heather, Nick, Ryan, and Charles; three great-grandchildren, Mariah, Max, and Madison; two sisters, Marie Duggins of Avery, California and Ophaa Ollar of Doniphan, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Pigg and Floyd Pigg, and one sister, Oma Isenberg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Tony Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
