Back to Obituaries Sign the Guestbook Newman, Mildred C. Mildred C. Newman, age 82, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at her home. She was born April 18, 1927, in Morgan County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Lee and Cora Ferguson Morrison. She was a member of the Versailles First Assembly of God Church, and had a strong faith in the Lord. She loved her grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her son, Kevin Newman and wife Tammy of Raytown, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Mac Morrison and wife Rosemary of Versailles; her sisters, Mary Silvey of Versailles and Pauline Clift and husband Bill of St. Charles, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Bobby Whitten, Mike Whitten, and Rick Varner, her daughter, Debbie Whitten, and two brothers, J.W. Morrison and Armond Morrison. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Gary Petty officiating. Interment will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
